This is more of a DDIY…Don’t Do It Yourself. OR I guess it could be DIYIYCDICAFI…I’ll let you figure out what that means.
…I kid, I kid. Do It Yourself If You Can Do It Correctly And Follow Instructions. I think maybe DDIY is easier – just trying to give you some options.
This is what I was going for:
Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid always has incredible nails and I definitely have nail envy. She also has some really great tutorials which you should check out. See…best nails ever, right? This tutorial was entitled, “Simple Triangles!“….yes, simple.
But here is what I got:
Ew.
Okay so my right hand turned out better (this is probably because I always paint my right hand first and by the time I get to my left hand, I’m in too much of a rush and have no patience for drying nail polish):
{Please excuse the quality of these photos – the other one (aka Stephanie May) has my camera so my phone was all I had}
All I can say is, instead of immediately stripping the polish off last night like I wanted to, I decided to give it a day and see if it grew on me. It didn’t and it will be coming off tonight. I think my major problem was using glitter nail polish. It is too textured and lays like a sheet of nail polish so when I went to take the tape off, it basically all came with it and I had to press it back down.
Plus, does this remind anyone else of a sweater they would have worn on Kids Incorporated? No, please.
Oh well, sometimes it just doesn’t work out. When I have more time, I may try again – or I might just take the easy way out and paint my nails like this again…it’s at least something, right? One thing is for sure, I am going to use pinking shears to make myself a chevron pattern on my nails. I’ll keep you updated on how disastrous that turns out to be.

That’s pretty darn great for a first try, especially using glitter (I find glitter a lot harder to work with than plain polish).
I am a rightie so I usually get better results on my left hand :D

If you were only in Tennessee. My “other” daughter does awesome nails. I bet you could even make an Etsy trade. And than my oldest daughter does hair and some times nails…could you jump on a plane? ha One thing Vev and Mandi does that may not apply here but for other nails..they take bristles out of the brush so they are left with a small brush to do beaches, or sunflowers or little bunnies or whatever with.
