The day after Valentine’s Day, Tristan and I were able to drop the kids off at my parent’s house and go on a long date.  We weren’t quite sure what we wanted to do, so we just played it by ear in the beginning.  We decided to try a new restaurant in downtown Denver and it was…..ok.  There wasn’t anything “bad” about the food, it just didn’t leave us with a strong desire to go back anytime soon.  After eating, we headed thrifting for awhile, and then decided to get dessert at Sugar Bakeshop.  It was SO yummy!  I had a blueberry “popster” (a homemade pop tart) and a vanilla latte, and Tristan had a raspberry oat bar and ginger tea.  Everything was delicious and pretty and just what we needed after our less-than-satisfying lunch.  The blueberry popster was flaky, tender, sweet and perfect.  If you are in the Denver area, you should definitely visit Sugar Bakeshop – I for one, will be back for more.
